Reminder of Ordinances Relating to Dogs and Dog Owners
There have been a few dog-biting incidents in the past few months in our neighborhood, and so in the interest of safety, the SSHA wants to remind all residents about the Seminole County ordinances relating to dogs and dog owners:
1) DOGS MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES when off the owner’s property, including anywhere within the Sausalito Shores neighborhood.
2) DOGS MUST BE LEASHED AT ALL TIMES WHEN INSIDE THE GATED SSHA COMMON AREA (around the Clubhouse, playground, pavilion, boat ramp and dock).
3) DOGS CAN ONLY BE OFF-LEASH WHEN INSIDE THE SSHA DOG PARK located behind the RV/Storage Lot at the back of the common area.
4) DOG OWNERS MUST PROMPTLY REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF THEIR PETS’ FECES IN A SANITARY MANNER when off the owner’s property. Please do not dispose of animal feces in the SSHA trash bins (or in any neighbor’s trash bins). Dog owners should dispose of their animal's feces in their own trash on their property.
The SSHA Dog Park, located behind the Storage/RV Lot, is a benefit of membership for dog owners. This is the only area within Sausalito Shores where dogs are allowed to be unleashed and to run at-large. New signage will be installed soon to clarify these rules at the walk-in gates and at the Dog Park. We appreciate your cooperation and adherence to the county ordinances and to the rules regarding dogs in our neighborhood and on SSHA property.
